This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads nothing from any other company. The only personal data involved is what you choose to send me.

Who is responsible

Evan Almond, a sole trader based in Ipsden, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom, is the data controller for this site. You can reach me at evanalmond@gmail.com or on 07355 607308.

What this site collects on its own

Nothing. There is no analytics script, no tracking pixel, no advertising tag, no embedded video, no web font loaded from another company, and no social media widget. Every file the page needs comes from this domain, which you can confirm in your browser's network panel rather than taking my word for it.

Your web host keeps server logs, as every host does. Those typically include your IP address, the page requested and your browser's user agent, and exist so the host can keep the service running and defend it from attack. I do not read them and do not use them to build any profile of you.

The one thing stored on your device

If you use the light and dark switch in the header, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage under the key theme. It stays on your device, it is never sent anywhere, and it contains nothing but the word "light" or "dark". Clearing your browser data removes it. This is a preference you asked the site to remember, which is why there is no cookie banner asking permission for it.

If you use the contact form or email me

The form asks for your name, email address, and a description of what you need, and optionally your business name and phone number. It also asks for a rough budget so that my first reply can be useful rather than a request for that information.

I use that to reply to you and to quote for the work. It is not added to any mailing list, not used for marketing, and not sold, shared or passed to anyone else.

The lawful basis is legitimate interests where you are asking about work, and steps taken at your request before entering a contract where we go ahead. In plain terms: you contacted me about a job, so I am allowed to reply about the job.

Who else sees it

Because this site is static files with no server of its own, the form is delivered by a third-party form provider acting as a processor on my behalf. Messages then sit in my email account, which is provided by a mail provider. Both are bound to process the data only on my instructions.

Some of those providers operate outside the UK. Where that happens, transfers rely on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or on adequacy regulations, which is the standard mechanism for this.

How long it is kept

Enquiries that do not turn into work are deleted within twelve months. Where we do work together, the correspondence is kept for six years after the end of the engagement, because that is the period in which a contractual dispute could arise and business records have to be retainable.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of the personal data I hold about you, ask me to correct it, ask me to delete it, ask me to restrict what I do with it, object to my processing it on legitimate interests grounds, and ask for it in a portable format.

Email evanalmond@gmail.com and I will action it within one month. There is no charge. If you are not happy with how I have handled it you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113, and you are entitled to do that without speaking to me first.

Changes

If this notice changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. There is no version history to consult, because the site is small enough that the current version is the whole story.
